Correct climate forecasting saves lives and protects infrastructure, however predicting advanced international atmospheric patterns requires immense computing energy. NOAA (Nationwide Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) is taking a significant leap ahead by choosing Google Cloud as the first supplier of high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for its Climate and Local weather Operational Supercomputing System (WCOSS).

By transitioning to Google Cloud’s H4D digital machines, NOAA turns into one of many first main international climate facilities to maneuver operational numerical climate prediction on to the general public cloud. This migration offers meteorologists and researchers unprecedented scale, pace, and AI capabilities to run huge simulations, refine prediction fashions, and subject sooner, life-saving early warnings.
