DoorDash says it banned driver who seemingly faked a delivery using AI

DoorDash appears to have confirmed a viral story a couple of driver utilizing an AI-generated photograph to lie about making a supply.

As reported by Nexstar, Austin resident Byrne Hobart stated he skilled this very factor, writing in a post on X: “Wonderful. DoorDash driver accepted the drive, instantly marked it as delivered, and submitted an AI-generated picture of a DoorDash order (left) at our entrance door (proper).”

As for the way the motive force pulled it off, Hobart speculated they used a hacked account on a jailbroken telephone, acquiring a picture of his entrance door by a DoorDash function that reveals images from prior deliveries.

A DoorDash spokesperson instructed TechCrunch, “After shortly investigating this incident, our crew completely eliminated the Dasher’s account and ensured the shopper was made complete. Now we have zero tolerance for fraud and use a mix of expertise and human overview to detect and stop unhealthy actors from abusing our platform.”
