Gmail is having issues with spam and misclassification

In case your Gmail account doesn’t appear to be working correctly as we speak, you’re not alone.

The official status dashboard for Google Workspace means that the problems started at round 5am Pacific on Saturday morning, with customers experiencing each “misclassification of emails of their inbox and extra spam warnings.”

For me, that meant my Major inbox was crammed with messages that might usually seem within the Promotions, Social, or Updates inboxes, and that spam warnings had been showing in emails from identified senders.

Different customers have complained on social media that “all the spam is going directly to my inbox” and that Gmail’s filters appear “suddenly completely busted.”

“We’re actively working to resolve the problem,” Google stated. “As at all times, we encourage customers to observe commonplace greatest practices when participating with messages from unknown senders.”

TechCrunch has reached out to Google for extra remark.
