E2EE RCS Messaging Rolls Out for Android and iPhone Users

Google Messages has had end-to-end encrypted messaging between Android gadgets for years, however we knew we could not cease there.

Google and Apple have led a cross-industry effort to deliver end-to-end encryption to Wealthy Communication Companies (RCS), making the cross-platform messaging format that replaces conventional SMS safer and personal.

Beginning immediately, end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging begins rolling out in beta for iPhone customers working iOS 26.5 with supported carriers and Android customers on the newest model of Google Messages.

When RCS messages are end-to-end encrypted, they’ll’t be learn whereas they’re despatched between gadgets.

Google Messages customers will know a cross-platform dialog is end-to-end encrypted once they see the identical lock icon beforehand utilized in RCS chats. Encryption is on by default and can be routinely enabled over time for brand spanking new and present RCS conversations.
