Cosmetics giant Rituals confirms data breach of customer membership records

Netherlands-based cosmetics large Rituals has confirmed an information breach affecting prospects’ private info after hackers stole reams of information from its membership database.

The corporate disclosed the breach on Wednesday, based on an e mail despatched to prospects that TechCrunch has seen and verified. 

Rituals stated it recognized an “unauthorized obtain” of members’ information in April that contained prospects’ full title, date of start, gender, postal and e mail tackle, and telephone quantity in addition to their most popular Rituals retailer, and account sort.

When reached by TechCrunch, Rituals spokesperson Eline van Malssen stated the hacker stole membership information about prospects in Europe and the UK.
